Alcohol Treatment Center
Alcohol Treatment Center
Are you looking for an outpatient alcohol treatment center in Northwest Indiana for yourself or a loved one? Heartland Recovery Center is a one-of-a-kind rehab facility located in Lowell, Indiana where the average person can get an above average recovery experience. We believe that treatment is not a “one size fits all” method. Every client should have treatment tailored to fit their needs.
Why Should I Attend Heartland Recovery Center?
Founded by a family that has battled substance abuse, we know that having a strong family support system is key to long-lasting recovery. Which is why at Heartland Recovery Center, we put extra effort into not only focusing on our clients but also rebuilding the families. We help create family support systems by hosting weekly meeting, monthly workshops, and several other services at our facility. Having these services on top of our treatment program is one of the things that makes our alcohol treatment center a rarity to Northwest Indiana.
Heartland Recovery Center continues to grow and expand its dedication to redesigning what it is to be an outpatient alcohol treatment center by offering several unique and individualized services including: free consultations, assessments, interventions, PHP, IOP, OP, treatment consulting, referral resources, family workshops, and support groups.
Levels of Care
Our alcohol treatment center is built to reflect the individuality of each client that walks through our doors. At our alcohol treatment center, we offer three levels of care to best meet the needs of each client. Before our clients begin their Heartland journey, they go through a thorough clinical assessment to ensure that the proper level of care is offered.
We understand that substance abuse and addiction is different for each person. Which is why we expose our clients to multiple paths of recovery. Clients will learn from each path while in treatment, in hopes to gain an authentic connection to the path of recovery that resonates with them most.
- Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
- Partial Hospitalization day treatment is our highest level of care and best suited for clients who are in need of a more intense program. Client who attend our PHP treatment must complete a minimum of 25 hours of direct clinical treatment per week – Monday through Friday from 8:15am to 3:15pm. PHP combines components of both inpatient and outpatient treatment. Having a day schedule for treatment allows our clients to work on their recovery during the day and then go home during the evening.
- Intense Outpatient Program (IOP) & Outpatient Program (OP)
- IOP & OP evening treatment was created for either those who are new to treatment or for those who need a residential treatment “step-down.” IOP & OP clients complete a minimum of 5 weeks of treatment. IOP treatment is in session Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 5pm – 8pm and OP treatment is in session Monday & Wednesday from 5pm – 7pm. IOP & OP treatment includes; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Relapse Prevention, Emotional Model Recovery, and Mindfulness. Evening clients leave our outpatient drug treatment center every day to help them implement their developed skills in the real world – creating an authentic path towards recovery in real time.
The Heartland Process
Before clients go through treatment at our alcohol treatment center, they must first go through the admission process. Clients are given a free tour and consultation by our intake staff to appropriately guide them to the right direction. If our intake staff believes that a clinical assessment is needed for placement, clients will go through an in-depth biomedical, psychological, & social assessment which is done by our clinical team. Our assessments are centered around the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria. Even if potential clients are not a fit for Heartland, we will help direct them to the proper level of care that they need.
Before our clients begin their treatment, they go through a brief orientation. The orientation is to make certain that our clients understand what expectations are while undergoing treatment and for our staff to understand clients’ needs as well. Once treatment begins, the length of their treatment depends on the needs of the client. We do recommend a minimum of five weeks; however, if our team believes additional time is needed (even if it is a step down), we will adjust treatment as needed together.
Whether clients are in the day or evening program, aftercare begins once clients graduate from our treatment. Clients are scheduled to partake in weekly check-in meetings with our Supportive Services staff. These meetings are scheduled for up to a year or longer after treatment and they are to support our clients on their path of recovery. As clients have continued success on their path of recovery, meetings can be decreased. However, if clients are not doing well or relapse happens, our Supportive Services and Clinical staff will partner up to assist clients to the appropriate level of care needed.
