The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is a non-for-profit organization whose goal is to is to certify healthcare organizations and programs throughout the United States. The Joint Commission focuses on three major aspects of a facility’s operation: patient care, medication safety, and client rights. Our facility voluntarily underwent a thorough evaluation to see if we meet the standards that The Joint Commission sets. Since 1951, The Joint Commission accredits nearly 21,000 programs and organizations which have met and continue to meet their rigorous set of standards.

What is The Joint Commission and their Gold Seal of Approval©?
The Joint Commission’s Mission:

The Gold Seal of Approval© is a nationwide symbol of quality that reflects the gold-standard of which the facility/organization/program meets. With Heartland Recovery Center’s Gold Seal of Approval©, you can be at ease when considering our facility for the addiction treatment needs of you or your loved one. To continuously maintain these standards, we must be ready for an onsite evaluation by The Joint Commission at all times. The evaluations are completed by The Joint Commission of Indiana survey group at least once every three years. These evaluations make sure that our staff:

- Evaluate our clients before, during, and after being with us
- Protect our clients and each other against infection
- Are prepared for emergency situations
- Provide a safe environment
